7 Trends in Kitchen and Bath Cabinets and Knobs, Too!

Posted by TOA's Blog Team on Oct 20th 2023

Are you wondering about trends in kitchen and bath cabinets?

Since Tile Outlets of America carries Kitchen and Bath cabinets as well as knobs, cabinet accessories and sinks to complete a kitchen and bath remodel, we pay attention to trends.

The major source of cabinetry trend information comes from KBIS (the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show) which takes place in January. Here are 7 trends in kitchen and bath cabinets (and knobs, too) that caught our attention from KBIS.

Seven Interesting Kitchen and Bath Cabinetry Trends

The seven trends we found interesting include:

1- Wood looks are in for cabinets.

2- Bold cabinetry colors are hot!

3- Cabinetry hardware (aka knobs) is rich in possibilities.

4- Warm brass finishes look fantastic with wood look tile and cabinets.

5- Kick your cabinetry usefulness up a notch with storage accessories!

6- Tile is ideal for creating personalized kitchens and baths.

7- The marble look is everywhere.

Let's go into more detail.

1. Wood looks are in for cabinets.

According to Top 10 Design Trends at KBIS (Kitchen and Bath Industry Show), "wood is in:"

"White Oak was a forgotten wood in cabinetry until recently. Now it’s coming back strong..."

We agree whole-heartedly!

When you visit the cabinetry displays on view at Tile Outlets in Tampa and Fort Myers, you'll notice many wood displays. The richness speaks for itself.

2. Bold cabinetry colors are hot!

At the same time, "color is your friend," as that article states about kitchen and bath trends.

Another articled titled What's New for Kitchen and Bath, further emphasizes the color trend by showing off a magnificent green Wellborn Cabinets display boldly accessorized with black and white subway tile installed in a zig-zag pattern.

3. Cabinetry hardware (aka knobs) is rich in possibilities.

Knobs and cabinetry hardware are essentially jewelry for cabinets. They dress them up, complete the look and add both whimsy and functionality. You will love the hardware that Top Knobs introduced at KBIS.

(You will find Top Knobs at Tile Outlets of America.)

As Top Knobs Introduces Fresh New Transitional Hardware explains,

"Founded in 1994, Top Knobs is one of the leading North American hardware manufacturers. The growing popularity of this brand is due in large part to its extensive offering of over 30 high-quality product collections as well as the company’s decision to focus on strengthening its relationships with those in the design community.

You won’t find Top Knobs in big box stores like Home Depot or Lowes. Instead, the company chooses to sell through designer showrooms to leverage the knowledge and influence of design professionals who can incorporate the product line in residential and commercial design projects.

Top Knobs collections range from traditional to modern in style and come in 37 finishes. The breadth of the product line, the attention to detail and the moderate price point make this brand a “go-to” resource for designers."

4. Warm brass finishes look fantastic with wood look tile and cabinets.

According to KBIS: Top 5 Kitchen and Bath Design Trends, you can expect to see more brass-tone finish options.

We particularly love how beautiful wood plank wall tile looks in a shower with brass fixtures as you see in this photo from the article!

5. Kick your cabinetry usefulness up a notch with storage accessories!

This trend came up in Top 10 Design Trends at KBIS (Kitchen and Bath Industry Show).

We love the focus on storage and organization solutions and accessories and how those elements can completely transform how kitchen and bath cabinetry blends functionality with beauty.

6. Tile is ideal for creating personalized kitchens and baths.

So many articles addressing trends at KBIS highlighted the design versatility of tile for creating truly personalized spaces. For example, how function meets art in kitchens and bath:

"Kitchens and baths are some of the most functional spaces in the home, but now the combination of efficiency and artisan detail allows a homeowner to have a truly personalized space."

We agree! This is where backsplash designs for the kitchen or interesting wall patterns, not to mention beautiful patterns on the floors can completely transform a space.

  • 3-D effects in Tile which add stunning visual interest.
  • Bold patterns (e.g., black and white tiles)
  • Concrete tile looks

7. The marble look is everywhere.

As KITCHEN AND BATH TRENDS 2016 highlights,

The biggest trend I spotted was Marble. Marble is THE material to use now. Mostly in white, like the Carrara marble tiles by Mohawk flooring. Besides the white marbles, I spotted some black marbles too, which looked very chic and graphic. I love the natural marble slates and tiles. I actually have original Carrara marble in my own home in my hallway. I live in an old home in the Netherland, where this was normal for houses build around 1900 and I always loved the look of it. Marble is pure and clear. It has character and fits in perfectly with various styles and in combination with a white and minimal interior. I’m glad to see that marble is coming back as a material to use in kitchen and bathrooms, but also in living rooms and workspaces, in decorating, styling and other interior and design objects.
