Glass, stone and metal decorative mosaics make a tile installation design stand out. They add visual interest, an element of bling and whimsy, not to mention that they offer you the opportunity to create a wall or backsplash design completely unique to you.
As Alena Capra mentions in Alena Capra, Interior Designer, Talks Tile and Design,
"I love that tile can be mixed and matched in so many different ways. I can take glass and stone and porcelain and create something different each time even with a tight budget. I love using tile in unconventional areas. Tile goes beyond the kitchen and bath. It's different and it protects the wall."
In this article, I introduce you to 5 new decorative mosaics available at Tile Outlets of America. What I like so much about them is that they mix together glass, stone as well as metal to create a particularly interesting decorative effect that each one's shape highlights beautifully.
5 Glass, Stone and Metal Decorative Mosaics
These five decorative mosaics are available in 1” hexagon, 2” hexagon, 2”x2” squares and 1”x4” rectangles. They are available at all three Tile Outlets of America as well as online.
1. Living Grey 1" Hexagon Glass Stone Mosaic
The Living Grey 1” Hexagon Mosaic is a blend of glass, stone and metal. The colors are in the blue and grey family. You will find grey glass tiles, white glass tiles and stones in blue and grey colors. The metal accents give this mosaic extra shine.
2. Elements Grey 2x2 Glass Stone Mosaic
The Elements Grey Mosaic is a 2”x2” glass and stone mosaic.
The glass pieces have a design element behind them giving you some artwork pieces in scroll and leaves. The stones are in wood vein grey and light emperador. The dark glass pieces are done with texture to give this mosaic some depth, polish and a metallic quality.
3. Tour Grey 2" Hexagon Glass Stone Mosaic
The Tour Grey 2” Hexagon Mosaic is a combination of glass, brushed metal and stone.
The light glass pieces have newsprint on the back of the glass to give you that art deco quality. The stones are wood vein grey and light emperador. The grey glass pieces have a textured look, but they are smooth on the top. The brushed metal ties together the textured glass, the stone, and the newsprint glass.
4. Artist Grey 1x4 Glass Stone Mosaic
The Artist Grey 1”x4” Mosaic is a combination of glass, stone and metal.
The glass pieces have a design element of flower graphics and the glass is a matte finish. The metal is a brushed look and the stone pieces are in the brown family. The cement looking pieces are stones.
The rectangular format makes this decorative mosaic look particularly artist-like.
5. Artist Black 1x4 Glass Stone Mosaic
The Artist Black 1”x4” Mosaic is a combination of glass, stone and metal.
The glass pieces have a design element of graffiti graphics and the glass is a matte finish. The metal has a brushed finish. The solid glass pieces have a textured and cratered appearance. This mosaic would be a great complement to accent with black colors.
As with the Artist Grey 1x4 Glass Stone Mosaic, the rectangular shape adds a strong artistic element.
Here is an image showing you how the Artist Black 1x4 Mosaic looks in an installation. Stunning, no?
