Trade Pro and Customer Service Representatives in Fort Myers: Kaisy and Kendra

If you're a Trade Professional and/or have had service-related questions at Tile Outlets of America in Fort Myers, chances are that you've had interactions with the dynamic duo of Kaisy Turner and Kendra Weaver. As Co-Trade Pro Managers, they focus on delivering top-notch customer service.

In this article, we caught up with them to learn more about their passion for what they do.

Meet Tile Outlets' Trade Pro and Customer Service Representatives Kaisy and Kendra

TOA: Kaisy, tell us about yourself and your background.

KT: I have been living in Florida for the past 14 years. 

I am originally from Brooklyn New York. I have been working since the age 16 and for as I can remember I have always held customer service-oriented jobs.

TOA: Kendra, what about you? What's your background?

KW: I was raised in the SW Florida area.

My husband, who also used to work here, and I have been together for 16 years We are so very lucky enough to have two amazing little humans.

TOA: How did you both get started at Tile Outlets of America?

KT: I got my start with Tile Outlets of America from a contractor who currently shops at our Fort Myers location. He told me it would be a great place to work and a great way to learn about something I had no prior experience in. 

I have been here ever since.

KW: I was working at a gas station and looking for a change. Someplace where I could grow and learn. My uncle had been working here at the time and informed me of a cashier’s position. I knew absolutely nothing about tile. 

Now I’m about to celebrate my 17 year anniversary here. I think I made the right choice.

TOA: What positions have you held at TOA?

KW: Well, what haven’t I done? That would be a shorter list. Cashier, Sales, Outside Sales, Cabinets Sales, and now Trade Pro Manager and Admin. Assistant.

The only thing I’ve never done in this store is drive a fork lift!

KT: I started with TOA in 2019 as a cashier. Eventually I did move on to a sales position. 

After doing that for a while I was given a great opportunity to be the trade pro manager here.

TOA: Tell us about your current role as Trade Pro Co-Managers?

KT: My current role is the co-trade pro manager alongside Kendra and I also double as a cashier. I handle any upfront operations. Kendra handles all the backend operations that have to do with the services we provide to our trade pro contractors.

KW: My current role is Trade Pro Co-Manager and Administrative Assistant. I have my main jobs, then I assist the store as needed.

TOA: How do you coordinate with one another?

KW: Kaisy and I are making a great team! We check in with each other daily. If there is too much on her plate, I step in and visa versa. She has a great customer service personality and is the perfect person to be the “face” of the contractor department at the front desk. I love the busy work, so I’m in the back office doing the paperwork and making the calls. We are both in positions that suite our attributes wonderfully.

KT: I think the biggest thing for Kendra and I is having a great line of communication, just really making sure we are there for each other and being as helpful as we can be towards each other so we can provide the best to our contractors as well as customers.

TOA: What are the biggest questions you deal with?

KT: The biggest questions I deal with is how our contractors get signed up with us and wanting to know all the benefits we do offer to them.

KW: For my position I deal with a lot of the “office stuff” with the contractors. So I’m dealing with a lot of contractor program questions.

TOA: What advice do you have for contractors and customers?

KW: The best advice I can offer is to plan ahead. In the world's current climate, unfortunately, somethings are taking a little longer. Contractors are often booked out months in advance.

You may also have to wait for certain material to arrive. Early planning is key to making sure your job goes smoothly.

KT: My advice is to never be afraid to ask any questions. We are here to answer all your questions and get you going in the right direction.

Even if you been in the business for years or even a homeowner doing it yourself. We are here to provide and support you with any guidance you might need.

TOA: What do you like most about your job?

KW: I honestly really enjoy the variety that my job offers. 

I get to help customers, contractors, and other employees. Each days work load is different. After nearly 17 years, I still love this place and my fellow co-workers. So much so I married one!!

KT: My favorite part of the job is being able to assist in giving our contractors the necessary tools to help give our customers their dream home designs.

TOA: Which are your favorite products here at Tile Outlets of America?

KT: My favorite product is the Luxury Vinyl. We have so much variety available in the store - from colors to designs and even different lengths that the vinyl planks come in. It is so easy to install, plus it's child and pet friendly.

KW: Same for me. As a mother of 2 littles, 2 dogs and 1 cat, my favorite product is LVT (Luxury Vinyl Tile) It comes in a ton of colors and mimics the look of natural wood at a fraction of the cost. For me, the best part is the durability and ease of cleaning.

TOA: What's your favorite Inspiration Area installation and why?

KW: My last position held here was Cabinet Sales, so my favorite Inspiration area is The white kitchen display with the navy blue island! I helped design it so I’m a little partial, what can I say. I think it bridges the gap between modern and traditional so seamlessly. The clean lines of the white cabinets against the rich raised panel navy cabinets is quite stunning.

KT: It is truly so hard to pick a favorite because all our inspiration installations are just so creative. You can draw inspiration from all of them.

TOA: What do you like to do when you’re not at Tile Outlets of America?

KT: The thing I like to the best when I am not at work in general is just spending time with my family. And being a mom to my wonderful children.

KW: My passion outside of work is Theater! I’ve been involved with a few local companies in Ft Myers and I find it so rewarding. It fills my creative cup and gives me the opportunity to be Kendra instead of just “Mom” when I’m not at work.
