Exploring Kitchen and Bath Cabinets and Vanities with Kendra

Posted by TOA's Blog Team on Jul 11th 2019

Want to learn more about the kinds of kitchen and bath cabinets and vanities you can find at Tile Outlets of America?

Kendra Weaver recently recorded a Facebook Live during which she walked us through the cabinet-focused showroom sections of the Fort Myers store as she described cabinet door styles, accessories, colors and ordering details for kitchen and bath cabinets as well as vanities.

Follow along with Kendra as she takes you through a virtual tour of what's available. You'll quickly realize that there's something here for everyone in terms of door styles and colors.

Learn About Kitchen and Bath Cabinets with Kendra

Kendra starts with kitchen and bath cabinets. Realize that all of the cabinetry styles have a vanity option.

Here are some facts about cabinet sizes:

  • Kitchen cabinets have a depth of 24"
  • Bath cabinets (aka vanities) have a depth of 21"
  • All cabinets are 34.5" in height; add a countertop and they will be 36" total when finished.

European-Styled Contemporary Cabinets

The tour starts with European-styled contemporary kitchen cabinets that feature flat panels. These take approximately 4 to 6 weeks for delivery.

As you can see in the image below, this captures a full-height, modern, clean look with a shiny surface. What's unusual about the top section, in particular, is that the flat panels are "up style" doors where the doors open upward rather than sideways.

Notice how much fun you can have with tile when you incorporate it into this modern style. You see a white penny round backsplash and fun shiny red 2"x2" mosaics as shelf background.

Two-Tone Kitchen and Bath Cabinets

Kendra points out several examples of two-toned cabinets.

For example, the image below captures another flat panel cabinet installation with white panels on the top and gray panels on the bottom. These flat panels have a wood grain texture that adds a transitional look.

Here, too, you see "up style" doors with a soft close.

Notice the bold geometric look of the multi-colored and textured glass tile backsplash. The horizontal pattern reiterates the horizontal wood grain texture of the cabinet doors.

In the Facebook Live video, you'll see additional examples of two-toned cabinets, some of them more traditional in style.

Shaker Kitchen Cabinets

The shaker and modified shaker looks are extremely popular for kitchen cabinets, especially in white. Kendra shows you samples from the Adornus line. These more traditional looks take 2 to 3 weeks for delivery.

The difference between the standard shaker and modified shaker has to do with the detail. Shaker panels are simple in detail; modified shaker adds one additional level of detail to the panel. Kendra shows you the difference.

In addition to all-white, you may opt to combine tones and do one door color on top and another on the bottom.

Time to Talk About Kitchen and Bath Cabinet Accessories!

Oh, the accessories you can choose from for your cabinets! This is your opportunity to combine functionality with organization. Follow along with Kendra as she shows you the following gems:

Ready-to-Assemble Cabinets

Here's an important realization! Did you understand that these beautiful cabinetry styles come RTA or ready-to-assemble?

Once you place your order, it will arrive at the store flat packed in a box and ready for you to put it together. Depending on the style you choose, it could be 2-3 weeks or 4-6 weeks.

The package comes with everything you need except that the doors aren't pre-drilled for knobs. The reason is so you can select the type of knobs or drawer pulls you prefer.

All Cabinets Can Be Ordered as Vanities

As we mentioned above, all of the kitchen cabinet styles can be ordered as vanities or bathroom cabinets.

Below you see an example of a vanity installation with two sinks and faucets.

The Tile Outlets Cabinet Planner

You can get started with your cabinet project by downloading the Tile Outlets Cabinet Planner design guide.

The planner includes instructions on how to measure your kitchen, what information you need to gather and graph paper for laying out your ideas.
