Cevisama takes place every year in Valencia, Spain. It's a truly international exhibit showcasing everything related to the ceramic tile industry: ceramic coatings and machinery, bathroom equipment, natural stone, frits, and ceramic colors, tiles and bricks, materials and tools.

It also welcomes visitors and exhibitors from around the world all of whom benefit from stunning displays. More specifically, the 2020 show attracted over 90,000 global visitors and over 800 exhibitors from countries such as Spain, Italy, France, Portugal, Germany, Poland, Russia, and others.

Cevisama takes its role as a tile trendsetting event seriously, as you'll see with the images below. Not only are the tile possibilities endless, but the design ideas are fun and creative.

Cevisama 2020: Blue Tile Inspiration

In this article, you'll notice that the focus is on blue.

Pantone identified Classic Blue as the 2020 Color of the Year. Based on how blue tones were trending last year, it's no surprise to see the color so strongly featured during this Cevisama.

Take the trend wall featured below. Blue has its own section. It also heavily influences the greenish section to the right of it.

So, let's explore blue tile inspiration.

Blue Wall/Floor Tiles

Marble Looks

Marble looks have been strong for several years thanks to every increasing tile sizes and the amazingly realistic looks possible as a result of inkjet printing technology. Imagine combining them with blue for use on both walls and floors.

You'll notice that these trending blue marble looks combine with blue and tan palettes, and in both small and large tile formats.

Here you see a square format.

Next, a large-size format.

What do you think of the furniture piece accessorized to match the wall design?

Or, use one panel to create a coordinating showpiece in your space. Is it tile or is it art?

The tabletop made from the featured tile coordinates well with the solid classic blue chairs, tying the entire look together.

From Marble to Agate Looks

It's not a far stretch to create agate-inspired looks in porcelain tile given inkjet technology. The blue tones combined with earth tones make for fantastic settings.

This series looked like clouds over earth topography seen from space.

Intense Blue Marble Striations

The marble design in this tile is so realistic to actual marble with rich striations and markings. It's all in the rich details of the design and the depth of the print.

The swirls come to life with this combination of color tones.

You'll notice that the floors and walls consist of a large format blue marble tile.

Here's what's interesting. If you don’t want that much blue, you can simply use another tone for the floor space in your bathroom.

The wall tile or paint color can be a soft color to complement this strong look.

Here, see how the designers took an opposite approach, covering the walls with blue marble and using a neutral tile on the floors.

Or, do one wall in blue marble and the other in a neutral tone.

Black, Blue, and Grey Toned Marble Looks

Not all blue tones combine with beiges. Here's another blue-related trend: blue with black and grey.

Some of these blue marble looks are visually much stronger with black and grey.

The hint of blue in the marble/cararra look below is visibly there.

Here's a closeup of that installation. The blue veining in the tile is a nice touch without being too loud; it takes a classic look and picks it up a level.

By the way, this blue Cararra look is one that will be stocked in a few months at Tile Outlets of America.

This next blue marble/cararra look has a geode quality.

This wall was one of my favorites. This onyx marble look with a blue agata stone look could easily work as a wall feature as well as a floor tile. The polished look in this design is stunning and true to real marble.

Blue Mosaics & Subways

As you might imagine, Cevisama featured a wealth of blue mosaics and subways in all shapes and sizes.

The scales are available in multiple colors and can be installed as shown or turned upside down and shown as scallops.

You'll find blue subway tiles available in many different colors and textures, often with the different tones and textures combined.

This item above comes with all these different textures in the box. Look how the installation combines with a simple wood plank floor tile.

This next mosaic features an interesting textured print on the surface.

The result is a combination of geometric patterns with wood-look patterns for a modified patchwork effect on a stone look.

Blue Hexagon

Hexagons continue strong. They are still very popular and trending.

You'll find hexagons in all different sizes for use both on floors and walls. Many create additional geometric designs once installed. Hexagons are definitely not going away as you can see from the fun blue/green hexagons featured below.

For example, these hexagon installations create interlocking trefoil designs.

Can you see how they work?

Here is the mystery solved. These hexagons feature patterns as you see below.

Here's another take of hexagons: a blue inspired marble look.

This is the Marmaris Sunset Hexagon that will be stocked at Tile Outlets of America. The colors are nice and soft and have a blue Cararra look to it.
